The legendary Ric Flair has finally been announced as a Mattel WWE wrestling action figure! The Nature Boy has been noticeably absent from the Mattel WWE line up to this point due to inactivity with the company. That has all changed seemingly over night as Flair, who returned to the WWE what seemed like ages ago, has finally been secured by Mattel with a contract and his first Mattel WWE figure has been revealed! The Defining Moments line, previously ended at Series 5, will make an exception for Ric Flair with a surprise exclusive featuring Flair at his absolute best in Defining Moments packaging.
This version of Flair includes his first ever headsculpt developed by Mattel and after years and years of speculation, fans have not been disappointed as to what he looks like. The limousine ridin’, jet flyin’ handsome Flair has his long, flowing locks and a fight ready expression.
With blue ring attire with his initials sketched into the trunks and on the back of those tall, blue and white laced boots, Flair is one of the all time greats and is finally represented perfectly in a Mattel WWE wrestling action figure. You can almost picture this figure doing the nature walk all by itself.
The Nature Boy wouldn’t be the Nature Boy without a wildly elaborate, detailed entrance robe and Mattel has gone above and beyond to give Flair that in this special wrestling figure treatment. With white trim and a black and white pattern, this robe fits the Nature Boy like a million dollar glove and defines him perfectly. Also included is the World Heavyweight Championship, marking just one of the important titles Flair has held in his career as a 16 time world champion.
Hopefully this is the first of many Ric Flair action figures to come, but if it isn’t, it truly defines just how incredible of a talent and just how unique of a wrestler the Nature Boy is. Mattel has gone above and beyond for the release of the first Ric Flair and taken wrestling figure fans by complete surprise. They wont want to miss their chance to own this exclusive, one of a kind Mattel WWE wrestling figure of one of the most legendary wrestlers of all time.

Evolution has officially reunited as an entire unit in the WWE with Ric Flair returning on the April 28th, 2014 WWE Monday Night RAW! Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista decided to reform the legendary group after WrestleMania XXX to deal with what they considered the unruly and wild group, The Shield. It remains to be seen as to whether or not Evolution will successfully stop The Shield in their tracks and if they do, whether or not they will remain a unit or disband. While the WWE Universe tries to unravel the mystery that is Evolution, they can re-create their sudden and surprising dominance through Mattel WWE figures easily with both current and upcoming Mattel WWE action figures!
Triple H has been spearheading the 2014 Evolution reunion with his position as a member of the WWE’s authority. Serving as COO and now more often as an active wrestler, The Game has set aside his need to be the King of Kings and joined forces with Batista and Randy Orton to try and stop Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. His Mattel WWE Elite 28 wrestling figure perfectly and accurately represents his modern day look as a performer and as the WWE’s harsh and intense authority figure.
Evolution’s youngest member and arguably its most successful over the past decade, Randy Orton comes off his WWE World Heavyweight Championship loss only to gain more momentum as his old group reunites. In Mattel WWE Series 37, wrestling figure fans get a WrestleMania-ready version of Randy Orton, representative of his dominant time leading up to WrestleMania 25.
The recently announced Mattel WWE Elite Series 30 wrestling action figures features many Legends that have the WWE Universe excited, but it will also feature the first Elite version of Batista since WWE Elite Series 6. The figure will likely reflect Batista’s return to the WWE in 2014, including his Royal Rumble win and his disapproval of the WWE and its fans. If those very same fans who loath Batista are lucky, he may even have some indicator representing him as a member of Evolution in his latest Elite.
Ric Flair made an appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw on April 28th, 2014 to give Evolution his well wishes, only to turn and shake hands with the Hounds of Justice, The Shield! Whether it’s a modern day version of the legendary Superstar or a classic version featuring one of his many intensely colored robes, the WWE Universe and Mattel WWE collectors alike have been clamoring for a Mattel WWE Ric Flair figure since the launch of the line! With another appearance on WWE television, they can only hope that an actual figure is now even closer to a reality.
If any Mattel WWE figure collectors or fans in the WWE Universe are simply unimpressed by Evolution’s display of power, they can stand behind The Shield with many, many Mattel WWE wrestling figures! Including Mattel WWE Elite versions of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, fans can easily enter their wrestling figure matches from outside the arena with plenty of options.

Ric Flair is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, no questions asked. With charisma, ability and a larger than life presence, few true wrestling fans would argue not only his place in wrestling history, but his influence and lasting impression. Ric Flair has notoriously not been the subject of any Mattel WWE action figures as of yet, with rumors constantly flying of his inclusion in the line. While there have been no confirmations as to when or if he will ever have a Mattel WWE figure made, with his recent appearance on Old School RAW, we can speculate and hope it could be one of the following outfits:
Ric Flair’s red outfit from WrestleMania VIII seems a perfect fit, matching the Mattel WWE Elite 23 Macho Man and Elite 19 Miss Elizabeth. After teasing and taunting Macho Man about Elizabeth for an entire Road to WrestleMania season, Flair finally got a spoonful of what was coming to him and is largely remembered for making a huge impact on Macho Man’s life despite losing the championship match to him.
With loads of colors and styles during his WCW run, the 16-time world champion is a peacock of coolness. We decided on a purple robe as it has been rarely seen, but the possibilities are endless. Green, black and red also make up trademark Flair WCW robes and a WCW World Heavyweight championship would be an ideal accessory.
Perhaps one of Ric Flair’s most memorable moments was his retirement match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV. After begging for a Sweet Chin Music kick from Shawn Michaels, Flair’s wrestling career in the WWE ended. For many fans, this is an iconic look and was a sad time, having to say goodbye to one of their all time favorites. For others, it could present a modern wrestling attire for those hoping Flair will hop back into the ring for old times sake.
Speaking of old times, it doesn’t get any more classic than Ric Flair sporting a look from his time in the NWA. While this may be out of Mattel’s WWE jurisdiction, it would be a pleasure to have a version of Flair that embodies his roots and the basis for the stylin’ and profilin’ legend he became.
