The Usos Need More Mattel WWE Figures!

On an upswing of excitement, Jimmy and Jey Uso are becoming one of, if not the, hottest tag teams in the WWE. With wild eyed ring entrances and a modern look saluting their heritage and wrestling family life, they are connecting with both fans and the locker room alike, providing a unique couple of ring combatants that are a force to be reckoned with. They have received one Mattel WWE wrestling figure set so far, included in Mattel WWE Battle Packs 11 in red:

Featured with red trunks and tights, this version of the Usos represents their debut in the WWE. They have gained infinitely more personality and been featured on television a great deal more since the release of this set, so more Mattel WWE Uso figures are imminent. Possible designs are plentiful, and the following would make some great ones:

Mattel WWE Usos in Yellow!

The Usos have shown up time and time again with matching yellow ring shorts with blue designs and yellow boots. The greatest detail is the addition of face paint, adding the island feel to the Usos and their ring presence. They are reminiscent of their wrestling relatives and ready to fight with any challengers in this look. The blue outline of the yellow face paint is an even more notable detail.

In pink and green, the Usos added a more pastel look to their arsenal of imagery. Sporting pink and green shorts, matching ring boots and face paint, they also wear necklaces to complete their style. Possibly an unexpected look for such a masculine team, but Bret Hart proved time and time again that real men wear pink.

The Usos have opted for headbands over face paint at times, like this style complete with a green island shorts, orange and green boots and a head band for each. While this doesn’t have the same level of intimidation factor as face paint might for some, it can be argued that it is a more cerebral approach to attacking the tag team division. A possible removable headband would set these figures apart not only from their own, but from other Mattel WWE figures as well.

Updated Mattel WWE Usos in red!

With all their new looks and designs, the Usos have reinvented the classic red that they debuted in. They may already have Mattel WWE figures in red, but updated versions including face paint, matching shorts and new, styled boots would make a perfect addition to any Mattel WWE figure collection.

Whether it’s in the ring with their unique style of heavy hitting, or on the way to a match with their wild dances and crowd interaction, The Usos are a family team that are here to stay in the wrestling business. Mattel has always produced wrestling figures of staple talents, and since the Usos are one of the most featured tag teams of the modern day division, more of their figures are certainly soon to follow.

Triple H Mattel WWE Figures Are What’s Best For Business!

Triple H has become a dictatorial authority figure in the WWE as time goes on and the WWE locker room has a difficult time reaching the top under his power. This fighting against ‘the machine’ is a hot topic amongst wrestling fans and wrestling figure fans alike, who are constantly looking for new ways to re-invent their antagonists while collecting and playing. The Mattel WWE COO Triple H Exclusive figure finds the boss in a suit and tie. He has a friendly smirk, a well articulated suit and his old school pony tail. This figure represents Triple H’s ‘friendly’ authority times, when he was helping the likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan instead of fighting against them. With this figure, a savvy wrestling figure fan could pop off the head of this figure and replace it with one of the newer, shorter haired Triple H figures to create a current COO.

The first short haired Mattel WWE Triple H figure was released in Series 35. With gold, black and white ‘King of Kings’ style trunks and boots, this figure is the most current and a very modern form of Triple H in ring gear, ready to fight and face off with the oncoming WWE locker room. This is exactly what a figure collector looking for a Triple H that is WrestleMania match ready would be happy to find.

Taking the Triple H vs. the locker room battle a step further, the Mattel WWE Battle Packs 26 Triple H vs. Curtis Axel includes a pallet accessory and a slightly modified version of the Series 35 Triple H. With his short hair and strong willed sculpt, he will not let the likes of someone like Curtis Axel, featured in his latest Mattel WWE figure and first under the Axel name, have any effect on his authority or power. Roman Reigns Set To Make An Impact At Royal Rumble 2014?!

Roman Reigns has been the standout, powerhouse member of The Shield for the past few months and he continues to break away from his fellow Shield members as they often run into conflict with each other. They remain a unit as of the posting of this blog, but many WWE wrestling fans speculate that at Royal Rumble 2014, Roman Reigns will have a huge turn in the ring and have to choose between his singles career and his membership in The Shield. Only time will tell if Reigns will go on the offensive, but his sheer size, strength and ability have caused discussion in the wake of the 2014 Royal Rumble. Fans of Roman Reigns have several options in the Mattel WWE world to put him on top when playing with wrestling figures.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins both debuted as the first ever Mattel WWE The Shield figures and Reigns figure is spot on. With tattoos placed on his shoulder just in time for release, Mattel was able to turn the figure out in a way that fans would appreciate, finally adding members of the justice serving group to their roster.

In Mattel WWE Elite 26, Roman Reigns got an entire arm tattoo treatment and extra articulation to give the beastly brawler a more accurate look. With accurate sizing and a molded vest, this version of Reigns came with a barricade to let anyone and everyone re-enact the monstrous spears that Roman Reigns loves to dish out.

Reign’s latest Mattel WWE figure comes in Series 37 with a shouting, open mouthed head sculpt that showcases just how wildly powerful he can get when he is in the ring. With a different style of molded vest, this represents Reign’s first appearance at WrestleMania and embodies his intensity.

Despite his newness, Roman Reigns is an easy dark-horse favorite to make a massive attack at the 2014 Royal Rumble and the question isn’t so much his ability, but whether or not that ability will tear apart his team.

EXCUSE ME! Vickie Guerrero is the Perfect Mattel WWE Authority Figure!

When Vickie Guerrero makes her presence known, everyone in the arena can hear. Entering with her trademark ‘EXCUSE ME!’ statement, she screeches much to the dismay of wrestling fans who would rather watch a match than hear her musically challenged voice. However, her decisions making skills and authoritative presence are a must to maintain order in the WWE, so it is no surprise that she has received three Mattel WWE figures up to this point.

Mattel WWE Series 13 Vickie Guerrero!

Vickie Guerrero’s first released Mattel WWE figure included a ‘Cougar’ necklace, dastardly headsculpt and removable white and black shirt and heels that put her over the edge in terms of carrying an appearance that no one wants to mess with. Including a ‘First Time in the Line’ sticker, this figure was most certainly not going to be her last.

Mattel WWE Battle Packs 22 Vickie Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler!

Including her ‘boy toy’ Dolph Ziggler, the Mattel WWE Battle Packs 22 Vickie Guerrero brought a new, spot on and smiling headsculpt, complete with new look and that same ‘Cougar’ necklace. Vickie knows that power is everything, and to be powerful you need some muscle. She found that muscle in Dolph Ziggler, as represented in this Battle Pack.

Vickie Guerrero has since slimmed down and worked hard to maintain a figure that would rival the WWE Divas. Her new, toned body is represented in Mattel WWE Series 38, complete with similar style to her previous figures and that ‘Cougar’ necklace. A black and gold scheme showcases the authoritative, no-nonsense Vickie Guerrero loves to maintain. When the words ‘EXCUSE ME’ ring out in the arena, hopefully wrestling figure fans will have a great authority figure in a Vickie Guerrero figure to keep order in their roster.

The New Age Outlaws…Part of the Machine?!

Since finding a new home in the WWE after years of absence, the New Age Outlaws have rekindled the fans love for their anti-authority antics and reinvigorated the true meaning of D-Generation X. However, they recently betrayed CM Punk and walked out on him in the middle of a tag team match with The Shield. While they claim they are not in cahoots with COO and fellow D-Generation X member Triple H, all arrows seem to point in that direction. In the meantime, modern day fans get to enjoy an Attitude Era staple that hasn’t changed much since it’s original run, the tag team of the New Age Outlaws. As the Outlaws continue to make their presence felt, their Mattel WWE figures add new depth to the rosters of wrestling figure collectors who love mixing the ‘old’ with the ‘new.’

Mattel WWE Elite 26 Road Dogg Jesse James!

Road Dogg Jesse James was released first in Mattel WWE Elite 26, complete with hat and two D-Generation X style shirts. His ‘shake, rattle and roll’ finish can be re-enacted and he can be posed like a true degenerate. Welcome to the Dogg house takes on entirely new meaning with such a detailed figure.

Road Dogg’s partner in crime, the ‘Bad Ass’ Billy Gunn has yet to be put on display by Mattel. Speculation runs rampant as to which outfit would best suit Mr. Ass, but the possibilities are endless. The most likely choices are either green with lips featured or pink with lips featured on the ‘rear’ and front. Billy Gunn looks almost exactly the same as he did during the Attitude Era, so fitting him in with the rest of your Mattel WWE figures should be no problem.

It is unknown whether or not DX has a corporate agenda, but after their actions against CM Punk on RAW it can only be assumed that even D-Generation X will do what’s ‘best for business.’

Well known for having one of the best physiques in WWE, Dolph Ziggler’s latest from Mattel captures that perfectly. With a winningly mischievous smile and washboard abs, Ziggler is an athletic force to be reckoned with. His white boots and pink trunks make up the rest of his unique style.

Vickie Guerrero has always been a highly demanded Mattel WWE action figure so it is no surprise she is again being released in another set. Perfect for wrestling figure fans to use as an authority figure for play, she includes her ‘Cougar’ necklace and black and gold shirt and shiny boots.

Mattel WWE Series 38 Sheamus!

Sheamus has been absent from WWE for some time due to an injury, but he remains a fan favorite amongst the younger crowd and could return at any time to surprise everyone. His figures haven’t changed much since his Mattel WWE debut but this comes with a silver and orange scheme for those who are keeping track of the Irish fighter’s different styles.

The most must-see WWE Superstar of all time, The Miz, makes his way back into the figure lineup with a standard look in black and gold but including an updated head scan. Trying his hand at commentary, The Miz looks to continue making an impact on the WWE scene.

Kofi Kingston has since changed his look and style to sport long tights as opposed to short trunks. Hall of Fame Inductee Ultimate Warrior’s Perfect Mattel WWE Looks!

The Ultimate Warrior will (in the eyes of many) finally be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at WrestleMania XXX. His wild and intense demeanor and colorful attires have always been easy on the eyes of wrestling fans both young and old. His presence in the world of wrestling and influence are undeniable and now that he will forever be a WWE fixture, more Mattel WWE wrestling action figures based on the Warrior are bound to be produced. Here are a few speculative possibilities:

A Mattel WWE Ultimate Maniacs Warrior!

Ultimate Warrior teamed with his one-time nemesis ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage to form the Ultimate Maniacs. When the two powerhouses got together, they became an unstoppable tag team and faced off with many WWE staples at the time of their friendship. Ultimate Warrior sported a bright red and yellow color scheme with detailed logos and even sunglasses to match Randy Savage. With a brick-like design and arm tassels, this is a previously unmanufactured Warrior that would get wrestling figure fans talking.

A solo Mattel WWE Ultimate Warrior!

The Ultimate Warrior, of course, made his biggest impact on the world of wrestling all by himself. This look captures Ultimate Warrior at the height of his solo career, complete with amazing airbrushing techniques on his trunks and pastel colors that separate him from any and every other wrestling superstar. Such a figure could be considered a definitive look, reminding fans of Warrior at any point during his solo career.

Mattel WWE WCW Halloween Havoc Ultimate Warrior!

Though panned by many fans, Halloween Havoc ’98 remains memorable as a staple of Ultimate Warrior’s short lived WCW run and a showcase of one of his most incredibly detailed outfits to date. The Halloween Havoc look has been a sought after figure for many wrestling figure fans of Ultimate Warrior due to its incredible detail and dark, colorful look. Though the match may not be remembered through wrestling history, the outfit always will.

With his Hall of Fame induction, it wouldn’t be a disappointing surprise for the Ultimate Warrior, who is in great shape, to step into the WWE ring, either at the 2014 Royal Rumble or at WrestleMania XXX! It would be perfect for fans old and new to bring Ultimate Warrior’s presence into their current wrestling figure roster, to play with as a veteran competitor or even an authority figure! Warrior’s potential for wrestling figures can not be denied and Mattel will certainly not disappoint.

Jake The Snake Roberts Returns!…To Mattel WWE?!

The WWE Universe exploded with surprise when Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts returned to the WWE for the first time in well over 15 years at Old School RAW. Bringing a new snake with him, he gave Dean Ambrose the surprise of his life and looked better than ever. Fans immediately began to speculate as to what the extent of Roberts’ return would be. Would it be full time, a one off appearance or perhaps an entry in the 2014 Royal Rumble? Along with career speculation, there is always wrestling figure speculation. Jake Roberts has been lucky enough to receive two Mattel WWE treatments so far, one in Mattel WWE Legends Series 2 and one in a two pack with The Viper, Randy Orton. Despite generally keeping his outfits similar, here are additional attires that many believe would make great Mattel WWE Jake the Snake figures:

Jake The Snake Roberts Mattel WWE Return?

This standard look is another of Jake’s many attires from his peak in the WWE. With this version sporting a caricature of his own face and stylistic ‘snake hair,’ it would make a colorful, well designed Mattel WWE figure. Of course, the inclusion of Damien would help.

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts at WrestleMania with Alice Cooper!

One of Jake the Snake’s most famous WrestleMania appearances came with famed shock-rocker Alice Cooper in his corner at WrestleMania III. The tights Jake wore reflected Cooper’s wild style, perfectly capturing the friendship between the two and Jake the Snake’s WrestleMania Appearance. Notable WrestleMania appearances include WrestleMania V against Andre the Giant and WrestleMania VI against Million Dollar Man.

Jake Roberts vs. Steve Austin – King of the Ring 1996!

Many argue this match is the beginning of the Attitude Era, as Steve Austin defeated Jake the Snake Roberts at King of the Ring 1996. A memorable match indeed, also memorable for Jake’s vest and teal ring attire featuring snake designs. The ‘reformed Christian’ would soon go on to compete for ECW and would not return to the WWE for 15 years.

The next step for Jake The Snake Roberts in Mattel WWE form depends on whether or not his appearance was only once. If he continues to show up, or even competes at Royal Rumble 2014, a modern day Snake figure would be ideal for Mattel WWE collectors and fans.

Ric Flair – A Mattel WWE Wrestling Action Figure? WOOOO!

Ric Flair is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, no questions asked. With charisma, ability and a larger than life presence, few true wrestling fans would argue not only his place in wrestling history, but his influence and lasting impression. Ric Flair has notoriously not been the subject of any Mattel WWE action figures as of yet, with rumors constantly flying of his inclusion in the line. While there have been no confirmations as to when or if he will ever have a Mattel WWE figure made, with his recent appearance on Old School RAW, we can speculate and hope it could be one of the following outfits:

Mattel WWE WrestleMania VIII Ric Flair?

Ric Flair’s red outfit from WrestleMania VIII seems a perfect fit, matching the Mattel WWE Elite 23 Macho Man and Elite 19 Miss Elizabeth. After teasing and taunting Macho Man about Elizabeth for an entire Road to WrestleMania season, Flair finally got a spoonful of what was coming to him and is largely remembered for making a huge impact on Macho Man’s life despite losing the championship match to him.

Mattel WWE WCW Ric Flair?

With loads of colors and styles during his WCW run, the 16-time world champion is a peacock of coolness. We decided on a purple robe as it has been rarely seen, but the possibilities are endless. Green, black and red also make up trademark Flair WCW robes and a WCW World Heavyweight championship would be an ideal accessory.

Mattel WWE Retirement Match Ric Flair?

Perhaps one of Ric Flair’s most memorable moments was his retirement match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV. After begging for a Sweet Chin Music kick from Shawn Michaels, Flair’s wrestling career in the WWE ended. For many fans, this is an iconic look and was a sad time, having to say goodbye to one of their all time favorites. For others, it could present a modern wrestling attire for those hoping Flair will hop back into the ring for old times sake.

Mattel WWE NWA Champion Ric Flair?

Speaking of old times, it doesn’t get any more classic than Ric Flair sporting a look from his time in the NWA. While this may be out of Mattel’s WWE jurisdiction, it would be a pleasure to have a version of Flair that embodies his roots and the basis for the stylin’ and profilin’ legend he became.

Goodbye, Kaitlyn, We Hardly Knew Ye…

One of the current most beloved WWE Divas has announced her departure from the company. Kaitlyn, a former WWE Divas Champion and fan favorite will no longer be a member of the WWE roster effective January 8th, 2014. Needless to say, many WWE fans are truly upset as they were growing attached to her raw power and beauty. Kaitlyn Received two Mattel WWE figures during her time with the company, both of which had no difference other than what set they were included in. Her Mattel WWE Series 36 figure was her only inclusion in the main line:

Kaitlyn’s figure was dressed in her most well known attire, including a frilled shirt and tight, black ring pants with black wrestling boots. The sculpt and body shape is an accurate portrayal of her muscular physique.

Mattel WWE Series 37 Kaitlyn – Face Close Up!

The debate raged on amongst wrestling action figure fans upon the debut of Kaitlyn’s prototype at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 as to whether or not her figure was an accurate portrayal. The finished product proved nay-sayers wrong as it included her layered hair and bright green eyes.

Unfortunately, unless Kaitlyn makes a return to the WWE in the future, this will be her one and only Mattel WWE wrestling action figure. A sad day for many fans who enjoyed her antics, incredible looks and wrestling ability. No doubt, however, that WWE wishes Kaitlyn the best in her future endeavors.
