Mattel WWE Battle Packs 35 & Mattel WWE Battle Packs 36 Line-Ups Announced!

Tag Team and team-up and rivalry fans, rejoice! The Mattel WWE Battle Packs 35 and Mattel WWE Battle Packs 36 line-ups have finally been announced.

The Mattel WWE Battle Packs 35 includes:

  • Curtis Axel & Ryback
  • Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter
  • Kane & Roman Reigns

Finding a common ground in talent and aggression, Curtis Axel and Ryback came together to create Rybaxel. Providing a unique blend of muscle and wrestling ability, they created a bit of an unmatched tag team with wins, but more conflict than success. Ryback always makes sure to bring colorful, airbrushed outfits forward. Curtis Axel has recently proven that ‘Axelmania’ is runnin’ wild, but that is highly unlikely to appear as an attire for this figure based on how recently it happened. Only time will tell.

Kane has been doing Triple H’s corporate bidding since his rise to authoritative power. This means stopping Roman Reigns from being the ‘next big thing,’ so it’s no surprise the two massive forces would collide. Kane has both worn his mask and wrestled without it as of late, so it’s possible he could be ‘corporate’ or a fiery, unleashed version of himself. Roman Reigns wrestles with the power of a super human, so the more figures that fans can get their hands on of him, the better. It’s important to have access to your hero.

Jack Swagger and his uncle Zeb Colter represent a down, dirty and extremely proud sense of what it means to be Americans, whether the people around them like it or not. Together, they make sure that upon their arrival, fans shout ‘WE THE PEOPLE!’ Since this is the first time Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter will appear together, it will likely provide an updated look for both the collegiate wrestling WWE Superstar and his grizzled veteran of an uncle.

The Mattel WWE Battle Packs 36 includes:

  • New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston)
  • Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose
  • The Outsiders (Scott Hall & Kevin Nash)

Since grooving and singing together on WWE television and praising about the coming of a ‘New Day,’ Big E and Kofi Kingston are brighter and bluer than ever! It’s extremely likely that the Mattel WWE Battle Packs 36 Kofi Kingston and Big E will be dressed in ‘New Day’ attire, possibly including vests and dusters, so fans can build depth for their tag team division.

Dean Ambrose took Seth Rollins’ betrayal of The Shield extremely personally. He’s now a loose cannon and will likely never be the same, with a newfound aggression that he loves to take out on the likes of villainous Superstars like Rollins himself. Though they have been running on separate paths since the breakup of The Shield took place, they will likely one day meet again with explosive results. Fans get that now with the Mattel WWE Battle Packs 36, which should included updated, non-Shield looks for both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

The Outsiders are one of the most legendary villainous tag teams of all time. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash invaded WCW and changed the wrestling world forever as founding members of the nWo. They wore colorful outfits along the way, but there is speculation that their most recent WrestleMania appearance could bring new, updated versions of The Outsiders to the Mattel WWE toy line. If not, it’s likely that Scott Hall will have his iconic red and black vest and gear, and ‘Big Sexy’ Kevin Nash will be sporting a red or black ‘Outsiders’ style getup.

Legendary Tag Teams Invade WWE RAW!

Mattel WWE nWo Action Figures!
The Ascension Mattel WWE Wrestling Action Figures!

The Ascension Mattel WWE Wrestling Action Figures!

The Ascension have been running their mouths for weeks since debuting on the WWE roster. With their bizarre looks and hulking physiques, they are using their words and intense actions to try and prove to the WWE Universe that they are destined to be one of the most memorable tag teams of all time. This drew the ire of some of the most memorable tag teams of all time as the nWo, New Age Outlaws and APA (Acolyte Protection Agency) decided to stop The Ascension short. With regular appearances on WWE TV, The Ascension Mattel WWE wrestling figures are likely on their way. Now that they’ve helped these legendary tag team players introduce themselves to an entirely new fan base, they should likely be given new Mattel WWE figures as well.

The three ‘Outsiders’ known as the ‘Wolf Pac’ in the early stages of the nWo takeover in WCW, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Syxx, have received Mattel WWE Elite incarnations at this point. The only one who has received a figure that can be argued as a member of the nWo, however, is Kevin Nash. Big Sexy’s red ring attire that he made famous in WCW has been produced by Mattel, but as a life-long nWo member, including being the ‘good guy’ nWo Red and Black leader, there are plenty of styles and colors that could bring an additional nWo Kevin Nash Mattel WWE wrestling figure. Scott Hall has yet to receive his first Mattel WWE figure treatment as the ‘Bad Guy,’ but with his Mattel WWE Defining Moments Razor Ramon figure having been produced, a Mattel WWE Scott Hall can’t be far behind. Syxx has appeared as X-Pac of D-Generation X, but could also appear as X-Pac, nWo 2002 member or as Syxx, nWo Black and White member.

Farooq & Bradshaw joined together as members of the Ministry of Darkness and eventually broke off to become the Acolyte Protection Agency. Since they are life long best friends and continue to dish out their unique brand of ass-kicking, the APA will, surprisingly and excitedly, have Mattel WWE figures in Elite 38. Rumored to included a door accessory and hopefully throwing back to their original looks, Farooq and Bradshaw will keep strong and continue their protection services.

The Road Dogg Jesse James and the Bad Ass Billy Gunn are staples in the DX Army, but they have continued to cement themselves as one of the best WWE Tag Teams of all time as the New Age Outlaws. One of the only classic tag teams to be active on the modern day WWE roster, the Outlaws have wrestled great matches with The Usos, Goldust & Stardust and more. With The Ascension now seemingly in their sights, new Mattel WWE Elite New Age Outlaws action figures with their modern day looks and wrestling attire seem to be no brainers. This legendary Tag Team will keep on fighting, and continue to shout ‘Oh You Didn’t Know?’ as they enter into arenas.

Kevin Nash Makes Royal Rumble Return…Could He Return to Mattel WWE Figures?

Kevin Nash has now not once, not twice, but thrice managed to surprise the WWE Universe with his unexpected appearance. Once showing up as Diesel in the Royal Rumble, he shocked the world after an absence for years from WWE wrestling. His return no doubt initiated the release of the Mattel WWE Diesel wrestling figure available in Mattel WWE Elite 16:

The popularity of the Diesel figure was unprecedented for a classic Mattel WWE appearance, including a WWE Championship, removable vest and spot on likeness of Diesel during his WWE peak. With full articulation and molded pants with tassels, wrestling figure fans had finally gotten the chance to grab Kevin Nash in a form they had been previously only been treated to a couple of times. The excitement was short lived, however, as the figure was packaged lightly with the availability of ‘The Outsiders’ Mattel WWE Elite 16 Kevin Nash wrestling figure:

The Mattel WWE Elite 16 Kevin Nash portrayed Big Sexy during his WCW peak, complete with bright red Outsiders outfit, black tassels and a spray painted WCW Championship! The figure also presented a completely separate head scan for Nash with long, blonde trademark locks. Wrestling figure fans made clear their desire for both versions but with their short packed release and difficult availability, only few fans were able to get ahold of the now sought after and difficult to find figure.

The idea still stands that Mattel WWE figure collectors still want more of Kevin Nash and aside from his many classic looks, his modern day appearances may prove more desirable. After showing up more times than most classic superstars during the recent WWE timeline, Kevin Nash’s modern day look is something wrestling figure fans would enjoy in Mattel WWE figure form. His return in 2011, from his canceled match with CM Punk to his Sledgehammer ladder match with Triple H at TLC 2011, would make for an excellent template for a modern day Kevin Nash figure. Most likely his attire would be based on that very slugfest with Triple H, where Nash sported long, black hair.

This Kevin Nash could sport an angry head sculpt, come with a ladder or sledge hammer accessory (or both!) and include Nash’s singlet and leather pants wrestling attire design from the actual event. It would have to represent his entire run after his Summerslam 2011 return, and would do so nicely as most of his other appearances came in plain clothes!

Kevin Nash returned at the 2014 Royal Rumble, surprising fans yet again and throwing around some WWE Superstars before suffering elimination. Noticeably more determined and agile, Nash was sporting a new short brown haircut with only one elbow pad, giving new possibilities and asking new questions as to whether or not he would return to the WWE to once again try to ‘stick the winner.’ Big Daddy Cool Kevin Nash remains a sought after Mattel WWE action figure, between those that have already been produced and those that may show up in the future.

A Mattel WWE nWo Hulk Hogan Possibility!

With Hulk Hogan’s WWE deal return rumored to be imminent, the speculation runs rampant as to what his return will entail and how he will make his present felt both in the WWE and possibly at WrestleMania. While he most likely will be a favorite of the fans upon his return, Hulk Hogan’s wrestling history will be constantly discussed, analyzed and remembered. Among this is his time in the nWo, perfectly geared towards many different Mattel WWE action figures. Here are a few of the different looks that would make great Hulk Hogan wrestling action figures:

Mattel WWE Bash at the Beach 1996 Hulk Hogan!

Mattel WWE Bash at the Beach 1996 Hulk Hogan!

The nWo Hulk Hogan wrestling figure conversation simply can’t be had without bringing up Hulk Hogan’s original look when forming the nWo. At Bash at the Beach 1996, the WCW was taken by storm and it was the last time for years and years that fans would see the red and yellow version of Hulk Hogan they had grown to love. This may be the only version of the red and yellow that invokes evil feelings for many fans of the Hulkster.

Classic nWo Hollywood Hulk Hogan Mattel WWE figure!

Classic nWo Hollywood Hulk Hogan Mattel WWE figure!

WCW champion and villain too cool for words, Hollywood Hulk Hogan sported the black and white best he could. With the Hollywood bandana, defaced, spraypainted WCW championship and any number of lightning bolted tights, Hulk Hogan’s leadership of the nWo is classic World Championship Wrestling. A version of this Hogan as opposed to a version based on his match with The Rock at WrestleMania 18 would be unique and not something done in a classic style wrestling figure to date.

After the ‘Finger Poke of Doom’ incident and the re-inclusion of Hulk Hogan in the New World Order, Hogan began to sport a look that was a combination of nWo Wolfpac style and nWo Hollywood style. Though short lived, this look is memorable for many fans of Hogan. With WCW heading downhill shortly after, Hulk Hogan’s WCW days may very well have ended in the fans of many with this look.

nWo Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock Mattel WWE figure!

When facing off with The Rock at WrestleMania 18, Hulk Hogan wore a black and white boa, nWo shirt and detailed ring tights and boots to step in the squared circle. One of his most memorable looks as a member of the nWo didn’t take place in a WCW ring, but when facing off against the Great One. Many fans who missed WCW’s original run only enjoy this version of Hulk Hogan, and thus he must be included on the list.

Hulk Hogan is a wrestling icon, quite possibly the most famous and recognizable wrestler in the world to this very day, and his time in the New World Order from it’s formation to it’s disbandment to it’s reformation in the WWE, he is as representative of the Black and White as one can get.

HULKAMANIA RETURNS! As a Mattel WWE Wrestling Figure?!

With Hulk Hogan quitting his managerial job at TNA Wrestling and testing the ‘free agent’ market, speculation is ‘running wild’ as to whether or not he will return to what many consider his home, the WWE. So far, Hulk has teased returning to the company, though in what capacity remains to be seen. After numerous back surgeries and aging body parts it’s impossible to tell if Hulk Hogan could wrestle another match, but wrestling figure fans like to keep their interests elsewhere. If Hogan were to rejoin WWE, the question of his Mattel WWE action figure would become not an if but a when. Here are some of his most famous looks we would like to see in Mattel WWE form:

Hulk Rules! Hulkamania Height Hulk Hogan!

Hulk Rules! Hulkamania Height Hulk Hogan!

At Hulkamania’s highest peak, Hogan appeared at times in the above attire, pointing to his fans, preaching for them to eat their vitamins and say their prayers. The classic yellow and red look with a removable Hulk Hogan shirt would be unprecedented as the shirt has never been produced on a classic WWE action figure.

Bash At The Beach 1996 Hulk Hogan!

Bash At The Beach 1996 Hulk Hogan!

It was the day the Hulkamaniacs cried. WCW Bash At The Beach 1996 saw Hulk Hogan shock the world and turn on those he claimed to love the most, the people. Taking mere moments to become ‘the third man,’ this would be the last time Hogan would don the red and yellow for years and years to come.

nWo Hollywood Hogan!

nWo Hollywood Hogan!

‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan ran the nWo and did his best to run WCW into the ground, feuding with the likes of Bill Goldberg, his arch nemesis ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper and many more. nWo Hogan would have several wild black and white attires that proved he was nWo for life, right up to his return to a WWE ring and classic WrestleMania match with The Rock.

Hulk STILL Rules! Undisputed Hulkamania!

Hulk STILL Rules! Undisputed Hulkamania!

Since 2002, Hulk Hogan has been proving that Hulk STILL rules, as he has donned the red and yellow almost always ever since. This would be a ‘modern’ day Hulk Hogan, proving he can still hop in the ring with the best of them and proving that Hulkamaniacs worldwide will always love, support and cherish his presence.
