Is 2014 The Year Of Dolph Ziggler?!

Dolph Ziggler has been one of the most watched and hotly anticipated WWE Superstars as fans wait for the breakout moment that will cement him as a top level talent. While many fans consider him on the same level, or even above the likes of Randy Orton or John Cena, and despite capturing World Championship gold, Dolph Ziggler has yet to reach an explosive level of popularity. The Showoff is waiting for his time to shine and has taken steps to try and attain it, like taking advantage of the love of Vickie Guerrero, commemorated in Mattel WWE Battle Packs 22:

Stealing the show and capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase, Dolph Ziggler’s athleticism is unparalleled, as is his flair for over the top outfits. A vest and a pink t-shirt to hang out of his trunks are featured in Mattel WWE Elite 19:

He has stuck to what works for him and is forcing the WWE Universe to take notice instead of changing to appease them. He maintains a similar look, always has a t-shirt hanging from his trunks (blue this time) and carries championship gold and a happy go lucky open mouthed smile in Mattel WWE Elite 24:

Dolph Ziggler is no doubt a future WWE World Heavyweight Champion but it remains to be seen when he will make that transition and run with the ball of WWE superstardom. 2014 could be the year that Ziggler makes a tremendous impact.

Brock Lesnar…UFC Bound? Or Still a Mattel WWE Staple?

Rumors have been running rampant that the beastly Brock Lesnar has been secretly planning a return to the octagon with UFC. He has openly and publicly claimed he is retired from his MMA career and vowed never to return, but rumors of some sort of superfight including Brock are the talk of the mixed martial arts town. This may seem difficult when considering his WWE career, but fans continue to speculate. Since debuting in the WWE, Brock Lesnar has been considered one of the most feared men on the planet, and his sheer wrestling ability is a major part of that. With WWE Undisputed Championship included, The Ringside Collectibles Exclusive ‘Here Comes The Pain’ Mattel WWE Brock Lesnar action figure embodies Brock’s first and most impactful WWE run:

Since returning to the WWE, Brock Lesnar has sported an MMA-style attire, including his sponsors and logos on his shorts. Although these cannot be captured in a Mattel WWE figure due to cross-licensing issues, the shorts and the fighting spirit remain, like in Brock’s Mattel WWE Elite 19 figure. This is the current, modern day version of The Next Big Thing:

Since Brock Lesnar enjoys time away from the ring and can’t always be present after leaving UFC for a WWE return, he has pulled no punches in maintaining a representative. That representative is none other than Paul Heyman, ECW founder and best friend of the big, bad brawler. Mattel captured the likeness of their business arrangement in Mattel WWE Battle Packs 25. The first ever Mattel WWE Paul Heyman figure is included:

Only time will tell if the very private Brock Lesnar is planning a return to the UFC. Will he balance his time between both companies? Is the idea that he could return to professional fighting just hot air? One thing is certain, Mattel has given fans excellent versions of this very big, very intimidating man.
